Kawartha Fans In The Spirit Of Giving
Patrons at Kawartha Downs were very generous on Saturday night in donating food items, which in turn were given to Kawartha Food Share for the Thanksgiving food drive. Board chair Dave Ralph was on hand to collect the many items brought to the track.
On the track, trotter Coco Bino score his third straight win for trainer Jason Woodward, owner Ken Albrecht, and driver Dagfin Henriksen.
In the race before, trainer Murray Brethour guided Big Petes Style to the pacer's first lifetime win in his first career start. A three-year-old son of Mach Three, Big Petes Style is co-owned by Brethour, Gary Brethour, Brian Marsh and David Heffering, whose Tara Hills Stud bred the colt. His dam is the $940,000 earner Stylish Artist, a Breeders Crown winner during her racing days.
Kawartha Downs has two more live cards of racing for their 2015 season. Next weekend, the track celebrates the great San Pail with a retirement party for the $3 million winner who started his career at Kawartha Downs and will now end it there as well. The outstanding trotter will lead the post parade for a race named in his honour.
