Canadian Yearling Sale Preview Day
Make plans to attend the Canadian Yearling Sale Preview Day Saturday at Flamboro Downs.
All yearlings set for auction on Sunday will be ready for viewing. The sale is set to start at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20.
Complete sale information is available on the Canadian Yearling Sale page.
Prospective yearling buyers have access to some of harness racing's hottest stallions, with 127 yearlings eligible to the strong Ontario Sires Stakes program. In addition, the current difference in value between the Canadian and U.S. dollar means added value for those buying yearlings north of the border.
"Owners and trainers should be looking very hard at what we have to offer, not just because of the strong group of yearlings entered in the sale but also because of the value of the Canadian and U.S. dollars," said SC Sales Manager Heather Reid.
The sale features yearlings by standouts like Kadabra, Muscle Mass, Mach Three and Sportswriter, with world record setting first-crop stallions Daylon Magician and Warrawee Needy also represented.
In 2016 owners of Ontario-Sired two-year-olds will receive a purse bonus of 20 per cent on overnight earnings in Ontario, plus five per cent on OSS earnings.
New in 2017, owners of two- and three-year-old ONTARIO SIRED and/or ONTARIO BRED horses will be eligible to earn a pro-rata portion of a $2 million Owners’ bonus, based on their earnings in overnight races in Ontario. A horse that is both ONTARIO SIRED and ONTARIO BRED will receive double the bonus.
The Canadian Yearling Sale online catalogue offers advanced search features to display only the yearlings you wish to view. Simply narrow your search criteria with the menus located directly above the sale roster and hit Submit. The resulting display can show horses by consignor, sire, gait or sex - or a combination of these options.
Set for Sunday, September 20, a total of 127 yearlings will enter the SC Sales Pavilion at Flamboro Downs. The action begins at 12:00 p.m.
