Hat Trick For Arsenic

Arsenic extended his winning streak to three in a row during Monday’s 10-race card at Mohawk Racetrack thanks to a come-from-behind score in 1:54.1.

Conditioner Scott McEneny, who trained the gelding’s sire, Bettors Delight, watched Doug McNair settle into an early four-hole with the rookie before asking him to come first-over on the way to the three-quarter pole. Arsenic cleared to the lead turning for home and used a :28.1 kicker to win by a pair of lengths in 1:54.1.

Out of the Western Ideal mare Shes Poison, Arsenic is owned by Brad Grant, Teresa Davidson and Michelle McEneny. Purchased for $25,000 from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, the pacer improved his record to 4-0-1 from seven starts while lifting his earnings to $37,900.

There were multiple winning tickets purchased on Monday’s Jackpot Hi 5 wager, and as a result the carryover going into Tuesday’s card of racing is $207,135.21.

The combination of 1-5-6-3-8 in Race 10 on Monday evening produced a return of $4,455.00 for a $1 wager.
