Carryovers Spice Up Red Mile's Saturday
A parade of longshots on Thursday evening at The Red Mile made for boxcar payouts, and in some cases no payouts, producing carryovers in the Pick 5, Pick 4, and Super Hi-Five for Saturday (Sept 12) night. Only one post time favourite was victorious on the 10-race Thursday program.
The 50-cent Pick 5 covers races two through six and will have a carryover of $879.
Next up will be a $2,453 carryover in the Pick 4. Track officials, along with the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program, have placed a $7,500 guarantee on Saturday night’s total Pick 4 pool. The Pick 4 is a nightly wager covering races seven through 10, with a $1 minimum.
Last, but certainly not least, will be a large $3,060 carryover into the Super Hi-Five in the 11th race, a 10-horse shootout to close out the card. Track officials, along with the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program, have placed a $10,000 guarantee on the total Hi-Five pool. The Super Hi-Five is a nightly wager on the last race, with a 20-cent minimum where fans must select the top five finishers in order.
The summer-fall meet at The Red Mile continues for one more week, with live racing Sunday, Thursday, and concluding on Saturday, September 19. First post each evening is 7 p.m. The two week Grand Circuit meet begins on Wednesday, September 30.
