Flamboro Preferred To Spartan Victory
Fresh off a blowout win against conditioned foes at Grand River Raceway on August 10, Spartan Victory traveled to Flamboro Downs and eked out a win in Tuesday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters.
Ryan Holliday got away third with Spartan Victory, who watched Were Rolling throw down fractions of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:26.4 before being overtaken. Spartan Victory launched a first-over bid going to the half, and he eventually wore down Were Rolling thanks in part to a :30.1 closing quarter. It was enough to earn Spartan Victory the win by half a length over race favourite Order By Commander in 1:57. Were Rolling managed to take home third prize.
Brad Pittock of London, ON trains and owns the eight-year-old son of Hard Rock N Roll-Kandys Kelsey who won for the fifth time this season and for the 28th time in his career. The trotter has banked just of $200,000 to date.
