There is a contractual part-time position available in the capacity of Identification Technician for Standardbred Canada.
Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our Member Services team in the capacity of Identification Technician in the Province of Québec and Eastern Ontario. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Registrar and Manager of Member Services.
Personal Skills:
The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication in French and English along with an excellent telephone manner and exemplary customer service skills. He/she must be mature with high standards of professionalism and strong organizational skills with good attention to detail.
Technical Skills:
- Basic computer skills
Experience:
- Complete knowledge of Standardbred horses
- Knowledge of colour, markings and traits of Standardbred horses
Qualifications:
- Strong customer focus
- Good organization skills
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and resourceful
- Ability to work with horses
- Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
- Bilingual
- Holding a Provincial vehicle Drivers licence
- Must have your own transportation
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide freeze brand services to all members
- Collect DNA sample for parentage verification
- Ensure identity and accuracy of all freeze brands applied
- Accurately account for all reports
- Schedule all visits to farms
- Properly maintain vehicles and equipment
- Assist in the identification of imported horses
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries
