Dexter Elims To Anders Bluestone & Keystone Activator
Anders Bluestone, a New Jersey-sired son of Yankee Glide, and Keystone Activator each won a $30,228 elimination on Saturday, May 2 and will advance to the $181,369 Dexter Cup Final for three-year-old trotters
on May 9 at Freehold Raceway.
Keystone Activator set a three-year-old trotting colt track record of 1:55.3, winning the 12th race division while Anders Bluestone rallied to win his second career start in 1:57.1 in the eighth race.
Trainer Jimmy Takter, who captured the 2008 Dexter with Holiday Credit, campaigns Anders Bluestone, who was bred by Bluestone Farms LLC of Hopewell, New Jersey. The colt won his career debut on April 21 at Pocono Downs, drawing off to a three-length victory in 1:57.2.
In his Dexter effort, Anders Bluestone, driven by Takter, won by a neck over Photoforwin. It was eight lengths back to Wishful Sir, a son of Revenue S, in third. Bobbi Jos Lindy also advances from the first division.
Anders Bluestone, now two-for-two, has earned $24,386. He was a $60,000 Harrisburg Sale purchase for Christina Takter of East Windsor, New Jersey; John D. Fielding of Toronto, Ont.; Goran Anderberg of Malmo, Sweden and Jim H. Fielding of Toronto, Ont.
Keystone Activator, driven by George Brennan and trained by Jim Raymer, drew off to a length and a half victory over Muscle Mayhem, a son of Muscles Yankee. It was three and a quarter lengths back to the Windsong’s Legacy colt Vesuvio AS. Finishing fourth and earning a spot in the final was Citation Lindy, who cut the fractions.
Trillium Racing of New Holland and Tammie Raymer of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania own Keystone Activator who has been first or second in 11 of 18 career starts for earnings of $133,095. He was a $10,000 Harrisburg yearling sale purchase.
His 1:55.3 clocking eclipsed the prior three-year-old trotting colt mark of 1:56.1 shared by Giant Keeper [1998], SJs Caviar [2001] and Strong Yankee [2005].
