Series Action To Continue At 3R

Live harness racing returns to the Hippodrome 3R on Wednesday evening with the start of the $200,000 Quebec-Bred Series for two-year-old trotters.

The last half of the racing season will be highlighted by the second renewal of the Prix D’Ete on Sunday, August 23. Some of the best four-year-old pacers in North America will be featured in the $200,000 event.

Two divisions of the Quebec-Bred Series will be on the docket on Wednesday. The series will feature three preliminary rounds. The top eight point earners from the preliminary legs will return on Sunday, September 6 for the $65,000 series finals.

Wednesday’s first division (Race 1) is headed by Panamas Boy from Post 6 for driver Stephane Brosseau. The son of Crazed has made just two lifetime starts, but he did win a qualifying race two starts back at Mohawk Racetrack in 1:59.4 with a :28.4 final quarter. He is trained by Jacques DuPont for owner/breeder Gestion Levesque 2005 Inc., QC.

Other contenders include Eau Naturelle from Post 2, Tuscans Memory from Post 7 and Dolly PV from Post 1.

The second division (Race 3) will spotlight return winner Wildwild Men from Post 3 for driver Robert Shepherd. The gelded son of Muscles Mass has already made five starts this season and has recorded two wins for trainer Isabelle Darveau.

Wildwild Men’s last start was a victorious effort at Georgian Downs in an $18,000 division of the Ontario Sires Stakes in 2:00.3. He also recently won an $18,000 OSS division. It will not be a walk in the park for Wildwild Men, although, as he will face some stiff competition from KFB Amigo Cool in Post 4 along with Skyflex from Post 5.

First-race post time for Hippodrome 3R’s Wednesday card is 7 p.m.
