Roberts Returns To Great Canadian
Trot Insider has learned that Chris Roberts will be stepping down from his position as General Manager of Racing & Gaming at Northlands for a position with his former employer -- Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
Roberts' new role will be the Executive Director of Casino Nova Scotia, acting as the head of Great Canadians' Nova Scotia operations effective September 7, 2015. Prior to his role with Northlands, Roberts spent five years with Great Canadian as Director of Operations at Georgian Downs and then advancing to Director of Racing for Georgian and Flamboro Downs from 2006 through to 2011.
“Leaving the Northlands family and horse racing is bittersweet," Roberts told Trot Insider. "I’m excited about the new opportunity, but it’s hard to say goodbye to a job and a team that I’ve truly loved. I’ll always be a fan and supporter of this incredible business and the hardworking people that put on the show.”
Roberts, formerly the editor of Trot Magazine and Standardbred Canada board member, confirmed that he'll continue his duties at Northlands through the track's biggest event of the summer, the 86th Canadian Derby on August 15.
