Over the vigorous objections of Quebec horsemen and breeders, Superior Court judge Chantal Corriveau has once again extended the creditor protection of racetrack operator Attractions Hippiques
.
Calling it the company's "last chance," judge Corriveau gave Attractions Hippiques until July 3 to either liquidate assets or present a plan of arrangement for creditors.
Operator of Quebec's four tracks -- none of which have presented any live racing so far in 2009 -- Attractions Hippiques has been in creditor protection since June of 2008. It owes more than $51 million to lenders.
