No NJ Casino Referendum This Fall
New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney has confirmed that there will not be a ballot question this November regarding casino expansion in the state, and thus gaming expansion at the Meadowlands Racetrack is not in the immediate future.
According to a report by The Bergen Dispatch, Sweeney made the confirmation on Tuesday (July 14).
On June 3, Hard Rock International and the Meadowlands Racetrack unveiled plans for casino expansion at the iconic North American racetrack.
The Bergen Dispatch article states that a casino gaming bill would have had to have been submitted by Tuesday (July 14) in order to be able to possibly make it onto the November ballot.
