Lady Crocus All Set To Go
Three-year-old pacing fillies will be front and centre this Saturday (July 11) at Glenboro in Manitoba, as a pair of divisions of The Lady Crocus will be the focus on the nine dash program.
The card is scheduled to get underway with a 1:30 p.m. first-race post time. The Lady Crocus divisions have been carded as Race 4 and Race 6.
The connections of 13 female pacers entered their charges to contest the event, thus the pair of divisions were necessary. The first division (Race 4) will feature a field of six, while the second split (Race 6) will house a field of seven.
Throw Me Roses has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favourite for the opening division. The daughter of Canaco Simon has drawn Post 3 and will have her trainer, Roland Rey, in the race bike.
After a successful qualifier in June, Throw Me Roses broke her maiden at first asking on July 4 at Morris when she paced off to a six-length victory in 2:08. She will be looking to make it two wins in a row on Saturday for Rey, who also bred and owns the filly.
Rain Delay has drawn the morning-line favouritism in the second division, as the Bettors Delight filly has been tabbed at 2-1 from Post 1. The filly’s trainer, Richard Remillard, is scheduled to be in the sulky.
In direct contrast to Throw Me Roses, Rain Delay has a lot of on-track experience, as she has made 20 career starts, 11 of which have come this year out west. She’s familiar with the winner’s circle, as well, as she has posed for six photos and has banked over $20,000 over the course of her career.
