Best Show In Town Takes Rideau Feature

For the second week in a row, Best Show In Town found his way to victory lane at Rideau Carleton Raceway in the $12,100 Preferred Pace

.

A group of six lined up on the starting gate for the Sunday evening main event, and it didn’t take Best Show In Town and driver Guy Gagnon very long to establish the lead. The seven-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear rolled the compact group to the opening station in :26.2 before releasing Imjustalittleguy to the motor.

Imjustalittleguy stepped past the mid-way point in :55.2, and he proceeded to lead the field to the three-quarter pole in 1:24.2. Best Show In Town, in the meantime, was lurking behind the leader in the pocket spot.

Gagnon tipped Best Show In Town to the outside as the field came into the stretch, and the seven-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear used a :29-second final quarter to haul down the pacesetter. Red Leaf Again rallied late to pick up the runner-up spot, with Imjustalittleguy finishing third. Time for the mile was 1:53.3.

With the win, Best Show In Town pushed his 2009 record to 5-3-1 in 10 starts. Owned by 9174 7998 Quebec Inc. of Blainville, QC and trained by Gerard Demers, the pacer has banked $312,436 to date.
