Waldorf Hall Wires Them Up
Seven square-gaiters lined up in Tuesday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 at Georgian Downs, with Waldorf Hall winning in gate-to-wire fashion for driver Nick Steward.
Waldorf Hall powered to the lead from Post 5 and rolled the field through fractions of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:26.1. The veteran then used a :30.2 closing panel to hold on for the half-length triumph over Seawind Pascale in 1:56.3. Taking home the show dough was Exemplar.
Per Henriksen trains the eight-year-old son of Conway Hall-Winners Only for Steve Organ of Aurora, Ontario. The victory was the second of the season – and the 29th to date – for the career winner of $535,036.
Earlier on the card it was Stormont Kate cruising to an easy win in the $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters. The four-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Princess Stormont rolled the field through fractions of :28.2, :57.3 and 1:26.2 before using a :29.3 closing quarter to win by 5-3/4 lengths over Alexander Lukas in 1:56. Lady Dynamite took home the show dough.
Trainer/driver Bruce Richardson of Arthur, Ontario owns the 12-time winner who improved this year’s record to 4-4-2 from 18 trips to the track. The lion’s share of the loot lifted her lifetime earnings over $100,000.
