This 1948 photograph taken at Essex Junction Vermont shows driver Dunbar Bostwick and the trotting horse Chris Spencer hooked to the high-wheeled sulky used by Will Rogers in the movie David Harum. While the sulky was legendary, this horse became famous because he overcame lameness by exercising behind a boat in Lake Champlain. Take note of the 'fly sheet'. Mr. Bostwick also had a dalmatian dog named Chris Spencer. (Harness Horse)
