While American Pharoah hasn’t visited Yonkers Raceway -- yet -- Yonkers Raceway visited American Pharoah.

Well, not technically. However, Yonkers’ track photographer, Mike Lizzi, was at Belmont Park on Saturday (clearly, NYRA has to tighten up its lax credential requirements) as America Pharoah ended the 37-year-old drought and became thoroughbred racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner.

“Incredible race,” Lizzi said. “I’m glad to have witnessed it.”

A reminder that the Raceway remains on hiatus for live racing and evening simulcasting until next Saturday, June 13. Afternoon simulcasting continues daily.
