Kandor Hanover Eyes Celias Counsel Sweep
It took a little time for her to find her groove, but sophomore trotting filly, Kandor Hanover, has been improving by leaps and bounds in her last few starts
. So much so that she now finds herself nicely positioned for a series sweep in her first attempt at stakes competition, the Celias Counsel series, the $47,200 final for which goes postward on Monday, April 20 at Woodbine Racetrack.
Kandor Hanover, a daughter of Pennsylvania sire, Tagliabue, won the Celias Counsel series opener on April 6 by almost 12 lengths on a track rated three seconds slow; her effort in the sequel a week later, ended in victory by a considerably slimmer margin, but resulted in a new career best clocking of 1:57.1. The filly, who is trained and co-owned by John Burns, seems to be attracting continuing good karma, as she has drawn the inside post for the final. Little wonder she’s the 3-5 morning line favourite.
Can Randy Waples deliver the series sweep with this promising filly? Find out at 8:02 p.m. on Monday, as the final of the Celias Counsel series (Race 3) gets underway.
