A win is a win no matter how you come by it - and one horse that knows all about it is the Pepsi North America Cup-prepping Western Posse

The son of Western Ideal, who is listed at 60-1 in Trot Magazine's 2009 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, was placed first in his 2009 debut on Thursday evening at The Meadowlands.

The Noel Daley student finished second to Intheblinkofaneye in a $15,000 conditioned event, but was later awarded the victory as a result of Intheblinkofaneye being set back to third for violating the breaking rule in the stretch and at the finish.

Western Posse came first over for driver Ron Pierce and still managed to kick home in :27.2 en route to pacing his own mile in 1:53.3. The pacer put together a 4-2-0 record as a freshman, and he took a 1:52.2 speed badge at The Red Mile.

Pair A Dice, who is listed at 60-1 in Trot Magazine's 2009 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, finished fourth in the same tilt for trainer Steve Elliott and driver John Campbell. The son of Cams Card Shark, who was making his first start of the season, paced his own mile in 1:54.
