'Tag Up' Triumphs; Five For Callahan
J L Sadowsky's Tag Up And Go was victorious for the fourth straight time on Thursday at Harrah's Philly, and he provided driver Corey Callahan with one his five trips to victory lane on the card.
The five-year-old son of Angus Hall was coming off of upper conditioned-level wins at The Meadowlands, with the most recent score at Harrah's Philadelphia in his last. Today's event was for Winners Over $25,000 lifetime on the trot.
The Bob Bresnahan trainee left the gate fast and led until the quarter pole in :27.1 before yielding to Wheelsandthelegman (Andrew McCarthy). It stayed that way until the :56-second half and that's when Team Six (Marcus Miller) attacked first-over. As they made their way to the top of the stretch following three-quarters in 1:24.1, the leader began to tire, but held up long enough for Tag Up And Go to maintain positive momentum for the stretch drive. Nearing the wire, Tag Up And Go pushed successfully up the passing lane for a one-length victory over a game Team Six, while Uva Hanover (Tim Tetrick) closed with a ton to be third.
It was Tag Up And Go's sixteenth career win, and his eighth on the season of sixteen starts. He paid $3.40.
