Mandatory Hi-5 Payout At Pompano

The Isle Casino Pompano Park is pleased to announce a ‘mandatory payout’ date for its Jackpot Hi-Five wager.

Introduced earlier this winter, the 20-Cent Jackpot Hi-Five has remained popular with Pompano Park patrons during a successful 2014-15 season.

One lucky fan ponied up $7.20 to take down a record payout of $146,288.30 on February 15th, while only two nights later a 20-cent ‘quickpick’ netted another fan a $6,588.86 score.

However, for nearly three months now, the trail has gone cold. There have been several occasions where the carryover has narrowly escaped, with only two or three winning tickets out amongst the faithful. The result is an eye-popping $190,965 carryover heading into Saturday (May 9) night’s finale.

Pompano has set a ‘mandatory payout’ date of Wednesday, May 20, assuming the carryover survives the preceding race cards on May 9, May 13, and May 16. Ordinarily a fan must hold the one unique winning ticket to take down the Hi-Five jackpot, but 100 percent of the net pool will be paid out on May 20 regardless of the amount of winning tickets. The carryover is expected to be north of $200,000 heading into the ‘mandatory payout’ card, which would already make it the largest pool in the 51-year history of the racetrack before a single new dollar is wagered in.

Live racing continues at the Isle Casino Pompano Park on Wednesday and Saturday evenings through June 27. First post each evening is 7:30 p.m.
