Woodbine Announces Another Wine Deal
Last week, officials with the Woodbine Entertainment Group announced a three-year partnership with Colio Estate Winery. On Monday, April 20, WEG announced another three-year deal, this time with Profile Wine Group, one of Canada’s premier wine and spirit agencies.
A joint release states that the three-year deal will deliver an extensive and impressive imported wine offering and enhanced guest experience at Woodbine Racetrack, Mohawk Racetrack, WEGZ Stadium Bar and Turf Lounge.
Showcasing a fine array of wines from 10 different countries, including the popular ‘14 Hands’ brand, which pays homage to Washington State’s Wild Horses, award-wining Profile Wine Group’s unique and diverse portfolio is certain to enhance the horse racing experience.
“The 14 Hands brand is a great fit for Woodbine Entertainment Group,” said Paul Lawson, WEG’s vice-president of marketing and broadcasting. “The brand acknowledges the strength, endurance and tenacious spirit of the horse and offers apt selections like ‘Hot to Trot’ white and red blend and ‘H3 Horse Heaven Cabernet Sauvignon.’ In addition to traditional assets for building brand recognition, like broadcast and signage, the agreement includes experiential opportunities for 14 Hands and Woodbine guests.”
The partnership leverages WEG's premium horse racing and Profile Wine Group, who in addition, will be promoting 14 Hands through sponsorship, in-store promotions, merchandising and targeted advertising campaigns.
“We are extremely proud to partner with Woodbine Entertainment Group,” said John Turco, the managing director of Profile Wine Group. “Profile Wine Group knows how committed WEG is in providing each and every guest with a memorable experience, something that is equally important to us. We look forward to bringing our top-notch wines, including 14 Hands and vintages, to the great sport of horse racing.”
WEG continues to build a strong roster of exceptional sponsors which includes brands like Ricoh, Budweiser, Pepsi and Pattison Outdoor Advertising.
