Rogers Scores Hat Trick at Grand Prairie
Trainer/driver Kirk Rogers had a terrific night at the office on Wednesday as all three of his starters came back as winners on the eight-race card at Grand Prairie.
Rogers started the night off on a good note, taking the opener with Prairie Dice. The three-year-old Aces N Sevens colt went gate-to-wire for a half-length victory in 2:05.
In Race 7, Yesterdays Girl used a three-wide move at the three-quarters for the three quarter-length score. A five-year-old daughter of As Promised, she stopped the clock in 2:00.4.
In the finale, Rogers rode the rail as long as possible with W R Matcaddy and found a lane late for the win. The six-year-old gelded son of Mattduff was a three quarter-length winner in 2:02.
A resident of Edmonton, Alberta, Rogers has sent out nine winners from his barn this year. With 188 career victories, the trainer has earned $657,490.
