A report by a local media outlet in Ohio is spotlighting the positive economic impact that the addition of slot machines at racetracks is having on local economies.

An article by the Springfield News-Sun explains that officials at the Champaign County Fair are going forward with their plan to build a $200,000 stable.

The report also includes comments from trainer James ‘Bill’ Dailey who explained that he has spent scores of money on local hay, straw, and associated expenses, not to mention that he directly employs roughly 10 individuals as part of his stable crew.

Randy Leopard, who has managed the races at the Champaign County Fair for 20 years, was also quoted as saying that if the building of the $200,000 stable works out, the fair won’t have any objection to building another one in the future.
