Trainer Handed 25-Year Suspension
It has been announced that a Standardbred trainer has been handed a 25-year suspension after having been found guilty of his sixth prohibited-substances offence.
On Wednesday, March 11, Harness Racing New South Wales announced that trainer Damien Gallagher has been handed a 25-year suspension.
According to a release from HRNSW, Gallagher was given the suspension after he was found guilty of his sixth career prohibited-substances offence, a Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) positive that was produced by of his starters, Ihitthegroundrunning NZ, who had competed in a January 9, 2015 race at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
The racing body ruled that Gallagher’s suspension began on January 15, 2015.
