Western Fair Cancels Two Cards
The Raceway at Western Fair District has been forced to cancel racing for a second consecutive night due to unsafe track conditions caused by the March thaw in London.
All horses entered to race, who did not scratch early, will receive a cancellation fee.
Officials have announced that Wednesday’s program has also been cancelled as temperatures in London are expected to remain mild which have an adverse effect on the racing surface.
Northfield Park has had the same luck with its track surface and has cancelled for the second straight day. The next card scheduled for Northfield is Wednesday (March 11).
Due to continuing thawing track conditions, Monticello has cancelled live racing for Wednesday, March 11. Management will assess the situation again tomorrow regarding Thursday’s card.
