McEachern Foundation's Impact Felt
The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario has announced that 15 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will be deployed in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties
in Ontario's Quinte Region.
According to an article by The Intelligencer, the AEDs are made possible by funding through the Heart & Stroke Restart a Heart, Restart a Life Campaign and the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund, from the Frank Cowan Foundation. These AEDs are in addition to 20 AEDs already allocated in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, bringing the current total to 35.
By the end of the year, 77 defibrillators will be available in the area's public spaces, such as arenas, schools, train stations, public libraries, city halls, etc.
"With the help of individuals, community groups and corporate sponsors, one day AEDs will become as commonplace as fire extinguishers,'" said Bill Durham, regional account manager from Frank Cowan Company.
