Wagering On Virtual Races In NV?
It has been reported that gaming regulators in Nevada have given approval for sportsbooks in the state to offer gambling on virtual events, which include horse races.
Word of the approval comes courtesy of a report by News 3 KSNV, which states that gaming companies had made a requested to be able to offer wagering on virtual events in an attempt to attract younger customers.
The article states that William Hill, the sport-betting company, pushed for the change in state regulations.
Quinton Singleton of CG Technology was quoted as saying, “Basically what we've done is we've expanded the opportunities for race wagering in the state.”
Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman Tony Alamo was quoted as saying, “The industry is looking for new things. Right now to horse, and dog racing – but the future, and there's some latitude here, places to grow from.”
The report does not offer any specifics as to when gaming on virtual events will begin.
