Casino To Be Built At Former MI Track?
It has been reported that there are plans in the works that will see a former western Michigan horse raceway turned into the location of a new casino.
An article on therepublic.com states that the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians is proposing that restaurants, a casino and a 200-room hotel be built on the location of the former raceway.
The track closed in 2007 and the band bought the property a year later.
This week the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians filed an application to take 60 acres of the land into trust.
The article states that the casino and economic development undertaking is projected to cost roughly $180 million.
