Blessed Victory Takes Pompano’s Top Trot
Blessed Victory extended his win streak to three-in-a-row on Monday evening, and he did so in a career-best clocking of 1:54.3 in Pompano Park’s $16,000 Open
Handicap Trot.
Dan Clements switched tactics with Blessed Victory, who took the field to the quarter pole in :28 seconds. He maintained the lead past the mid-way point in :57.1, but quickly came under pressure from Too Salty.
Too Salty pressed Blessed Victory to the three-quarter pole in 1:26.1, but he was no match for the pacesetter in the final frame. Blessed Victory kicked home in :28.2 to seal the deal in a time of 1:54.3. Too Salty was second and Diva Diva finished third.
The five-year-old son of Conway Hall, who races under lease to trainer Bill Gallagher and Victoria Jackson-Carinda, has found his way to victory in six of his 10 starts this season.
