'King' For A Day In London
After knocking on the door in the majority of his 2015 assignments, Lucky King finally managed to break through for a win thanks to his 1:59 score in Tuesday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Departing from Post 1, Travis Henry left out alertly with Lucky King before eventually taking a backseat to Hidden Potential. That foe cut the opening quarter in :29.3 before Lucky King grabbed the bull by the horns and muscled to the top. He hit the half in :59.3 before coming under heavy backstretch pressure from Keaton. Those two sparred to the three-quarter pole in 1:28.4 before Lucky King edged away to score by half a length over longshot Apaches Cam in 1:59. For A Bettor Time rallied to finish third.
Andrew McCabe trains the four-year-old son of Camluck-Red Carpet Queen for Glenview Livestock Ltd of Guelph-Eramosa, Ontario. It was the eighth lifetime tally for the gelding who has banked more than $110,000 to date.
