Here Come The Foals Of 2015
As the calendar approaches the end of January, more and more of harness racing's future stars will be hitting the ground and taking their first steps.
Two farms, High Stakes Farm in Campbellville, Ont. and Winbak Farm have announced first foals of 2015.
The first foal reported to Trot Insider came from High Stakes Farm. A filly sired by the regally-bred Johnny William out of Right Back At You arrived on January 22. Owned by Andrew Carss, it's the first foal for Right Back At You.
Winbak is expecting around 300 foals this year, and for the second year in a row a filly was the first to be born. This year, the first to arrive was a Muscles Yankee filly out of the mare Call Me Hazel. She was born on January 17th.
Second to arrive, nine days later was a Vintage Master filly from the mare Santino’s Rosa. The filly was born on January 26. The third to arrive one day later was a Betterthancheddar filly from the mare Lilli Maid.
The fourth to arrive at Winbak was an Artiscape colt from Latin Liftoff. The colt was born on January 28.
