‘Impressive’ Winner In London Preferred
The trip was a tough one for Twin B Impressive in Tuesday’s $11,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred 2 at The Raceway at Western Fair District, but it didn’t stop him from taking the checkered flag in the featured event.
Sent off as the 7-5 favourite, Twin B Impressive got away fourth before making a first-over assault on the leaders on the way to the half. First-over through middle splits of :57 and 1:25.3, the gelding dug down deep and used a :30.2 closing quarter to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Champagne Phil in 1:56. Mach Pride saved ground throughout and finished third.
Trevor Henry mapped out the winning trip with the Richard Moreau pupil, who is owned by Brad Grant of Milton, Ontario. The six-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Impeccant won for the first time this season and for the 15th time in his career. The lion’s share of the loot lifted his overall cash stash to $252,352.
Lucky Terror also survived a first-over journey en route to capturing the $7,400 Horses & Geldings Preferred 3 class. Jonathan Drury rallied the Shaun Mc Donald trainee to the half-length victory over Major Wager in 1:57.4. Taking home third prize was the veteran, Button Up.
Glenview Livestock Ltd of Guelph-Eramosa, Ontario owns the eight-year-old son of Western Terror-Miracle Luck. The 33-time winner bumped his lifetime earnings to $289,945 with the win.
