Life Savior Earns 50th Career Win
Life Savior, a veteran pacer owned by Darla MacEachern of Kensington, P.E.I., recorded his 50th lifetime win during the 15-dash program Sunday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Darla’s father, Duane, trains the 10-year-old campaigner, who went into the race with 242 career starts. Driver Corey MacPherson was in the bike for the occasion. The time of the mile was 2:00.4.
Driven by Marc Campbell, Forever Paradise delivered as the post time favourite taking the program’s top class in 2:01.1 for owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford, P.E.I. and his trainer Kevin MacLean. Pictonian Storm put in an impressive mile to finish second for Wade Sorrie while the only girl in the field, Veronicavermillion, completed the triactor for driver Brian MacPhee. Cheyenne Ford cut fractions of :29.4, 1:01.3 and 1:32 over a track rated a “good” with a two second variant.
Frill Seeker moved his winning streak up to four in a row with a gate-to-wire score in the Open Handicap Trot class. Kenny Arseanult trains and drives for Ebbsfleet Stables of Stratford, Ont.
Arsenault, Campbell and Jason Hughes recorded driving doubles.
Wager was $40,087.
