Just two days removed from capturing this year’s National Driving Championship at Fraser Downs, Brad Forward returned home and put together a five-win performance at Western Fair Raceway

during Monday’s 12-race program.

Forward, who will represent the nation at this year’s World Driving Championship in Norway, got the ball rolling with Bullys Joni (2:01.2), who went gate-to-wire in the fourth race.

He used the same approach to capture the seventh race with Missionacomplished (1:57.4) and the co-featured eighth race – the $18,400 Preferred Trot - with Nobananas (2:00.4).

A Fiesty Affair (1:57.1) rallied to an impressive victory in the tenth race – the $15,200 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace – to give Forward the Grand Slam, and he clicked with Triple Bars (1:56) in the twelfth race – the $12,800 Preferred-2 Pace – to bring his nightly win total to five.

In other Monday news from the London, ON oval, Pacific Oak showed no mercy to the foes he faced in the $18,400 Preferred Pace. It was a piece of cake, in fact, for the six-year-old son of Pacific Rocket who drew off to win by more than six lengths in a time of 1:55.1 for trainer/driver Kenny Oliver.

Giddy Up Lucky was second best and Just Plug It In, who captured last week’s Preferred Pace, had to settle for the show dough.

Shirley & Kerry House of St. Jacobs, ON share ownership on the gelding, who won for the 21st time in his career. He has banked more than $26,000 this season and close to $200,000 in his career.
