Commission To Review Licence Decision
It has been reported that the gaming commission in New York is reviewing a December request by Governor Andrew Cuomo in regard to the ‘Southern Tier’ area of the state not landing a casino licence when they were awarded last month.
News of the review comes courtesy of a report by the Times Union which states that Jeff Gural, who operates Tioga Downs in the Southern Tier, has been encouraged by the development.
On December 17, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board announced the three destination gaming resorts which will be considered for commercial casino licences by the New York State Gaming Commission.
It did not take long for Gural to voice his displeasure with the board’s decision, as he fired off some very terse comments after the decision was announced.
It was announced less than a week later that Gural was partnering with a former rival in an attempt to land a casino licence for Tioga Downs.
