Compliance Forms For Resident Mares

The Program Administrator for the Ontario Resident Mare Program would like to inform the owners of mares that were enrolled in the Ontario Resident Mare Program for the 2014 foaling season of a new requirement of the Program.

Beginning with foals of 2014, a Declaration of Compliance must be signed and returned to Standardbred Canada before the foal can be designated as ‘Ontario Bred.’ The Declaration of Compliance form was recently mailed to the owners of all mares enrolled in the program for 2014 and can be returned by mail, fax or email. In the case of multiple owners, the form was mailed to the first person listed.

Please note, a foal will not be registered as Ontario Bred until the form is returned and entered into the Standardbred Canada system. The Ontario Bred designation is required in order for the foal to earn Ontario Bred Rewards for the owner(s) that enrolled the mare. This form does not have to be returned if there is no live foal.

For convenience, the bottom of the form contains a receipt for the amount that was paid to enroll the mare in the Program.

In future years, the form will be mailed to the owner of the mare shortly after her 180 residency period is up or two weeks after her expected date of foaling, whichever comes later.

For further information, please email [email protected] or contact Robin McClure at 905-858-3060 (Ext. 247).
