Carnivore Repeats In Red Shores Feature
Carnivore came off the back of Forever Paradise and out-sprinted the pacesetter to the wire to win the afternoon feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The time of the mile was 1:58.1. The victory marked back-to-back winning performances for the pacer.
Kenny Arsenault mapped out the trip for trainer Marvyn Webster and owner Valleygrove Farms of Kensington, P.E.I. Forever Paradise (Marc Campbell) was second with Machinthesand (Ken Murphy) charging late to nail the triactor. The 1-3-8 combination returned $138.50.
Stonebridge Wish recorded his fifth win in a row taking the 12th race in 1:59 for Corey MacPherson. MacPherson moved the Trevor Hicken trainee three-high down the backstretch to keep the streak intact. The veteran notched win number 13 from 33 starts this season for owners Robin Burke of Ten Mile House, P.E.I. and Perry Burke of Grosse-Ile, Que. MacPherson also had victories aboard trotter Diamond Mine and Roscoes Child for the driving triple.
Trainer Jackie Matheson had the one-two knockout punch in the Open Mares division when General Luckypercy beat stablemate For All We Know in 2:00.2 for top honours. Ron Matheson was in the bike for the win. Third place went to A Fiesty X Ample.
Arsenault and Mark Bradley scored driving doubles on the final Sunday program of the year.
