McWicked Supplements To Progress
A victory in Saturday’s Breeders Crown final for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings earned McWicked a whole bunch of money, and it also earned him some overtime.
Ed James’ S S G Stables of North Boston, New York supplemented McWicked to this year’s Progress Pace at Dover Downs for $25,000 – a fraction of the cash the colt picked up in his front-stepping victory in last Saturday’s $531,250 Breeders Crown final at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
No eliminations were necessary for this year’s Progress Pace, but the Casie Coleman trainee will take on seven other sophomores in the $35,000 Progress Pace Preview this Sunday evening at Dover Downs.
The son of Mcardle-Western Sahara will tote a 13-for-31 record and a bankroll of $1,493,784 into Sunday’s assignment – a race that will also feature this year’s Pepsi North America Cup winner, JK Endofanera, and the Messenger Stakes winner, All Bets Off. It will also feature McWicked’s new stablemate, Play It Again Sam, who debuts for the barn following a private purchase by West Wins Stable and Adriano Sorella.
