Schooner Continues Streak At Truro
Schooner continued his wire-to-wire winning streak in Truro Raceway's top class on Sunday afternoon, this time overcoming a post eight start and holding off the pocket-pulling Push Back.
Schooner and catch-driver Darren Crowe established the lead over Push Back, a winner last Sunday at Truro who was sent off as the favourite in the $1,275 feature with the inside post advantage. Push Back launched his attack in the final quarter, but Schooner fought back to prevail by a quarter-length in 1:57.3. Sf Razamatazz finished five and three-quarter lengths behind in third.
Schooner, who went three-for-three at Inverness Raceway in October for owner Anthony Beaton, earned his 11th victory in 28 starts during his six-year-old season. Fred Saunders was the winning trainer.
