Drive For Youth Officials Give Thanks

Earlier this month, harness horse owners, trainers and drivers stepped up in a big way to support the Harness Horse Youth Foundation’s 2014 Drive for Youth campaign, the organization’s annual fall fundraiser, which supports HHYF activities including youth camps and scholarships.

“Each year, the list of contributors, as well as participating tracks, becomes more humbling with the generous support,” said Ellen Taylor, the HHYF’s executive director. “From large stables like the Burkes to the guy who only races a couple horses, the industry seems to grasp the importance of our educational mission. Many thanks to all those who helped make this year another successful event.”

Taylor went on to thank the numerous horsepeople that assisted in the effort.

“So many people pitched in, but we need to especially thank Stefanie Howard, Lisa Avenatti, Brandon Bates at Hoosier Park; Heather Wilder at the Meadows; Olivia Kimelman at Lexington’s Red Mile; and Gina Maybee at Rosecroft.”
