Perry Headed To Island Hall
It was recently announced that Andrew Perry will be inducted into the P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame next month.
News of Perry’s induction comes courtesy of an article by The Journal Pioneer, which explains that the induction ceremony will take place Saturday, October 4 at Credit Union Place in Summerside.
Perry became involved with the Island harness racing industry in the 1930s and was an all-around horseman that was best known for his success with Bay State Pat, who was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 1983.
The article explains that Perry was part of the group that redeveloped Summerside Raceway in the 1950s and that he served as the president of the Prince County Horsemen’s Club from 1968-1970.
A total of four individuals will be inducted in the P.E.I. hall next month, including LPGA golfer Lorie Kane, varsity hockey icon Paul Arsenault, and local racquetball legend Paul Nogler.
