A Promise Fulfilled
Local Summerside horsemen Blaine McKenna has followed through with a promise he made to a familiar face around Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway.
Last year, McKenna made a promise to youngster Logan Costain that if he graduated high school he would find him a helmet.
Costain held up his end of the deal and graduated from Three Oaks Senior High School in June. A few months may have passed, but on August 31, with the help of Jody Jamieson, McKenna presented Costain with the helmet Jamieson wore during the National Driving Championship in Charlottetown.
Always around Red Shores Summerside with his silks, waiting to try and pick up a 'catch-mount' or two, Costain has been looking for his own helmet for some time now.
Jamieson wore the helmet during his five-win performance on August 26 at Red Shores, the same night he was crowned ‘Mr. Canada’ and won the right to represent Canada at the World Driving Championship.
The autographed helmet was presented by McKenna and Red Shores racing manager Adam Walsh in the winner's circle at Red Shores' Summerside.
