Mcjestic Claims Red Shores Feature
Mcjestic, under the command of Corey MacPherson, tracked down the pacesetting Hail The Taxi to win the Thursday night feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Troy Murray of Cornwall owns and trains Mcjestic who won in 1:57 over Hail The Taxi and Tyber Champ. The victory gave MacPherson a driving double after he drove Brookdale Heather to the fastest mile of the night in 1:56.4. Heather Neill of North Milton was the winning owner.
Motor Shark made it four-in-a-row with a 1:57.1 performance for driver Jason Hughes. The son of Cams Card Shark wired the field for owners Arthur Jay and Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart.
I Aint No Lady captured the trot class in 2:02.2 for driver Garth Cole and owner Sandra Cole of Kensington. Glencove Umay and Hopedale Dora completed the triactor.
Juarez Cyclone, with co-owner Paul Morrison in the bike, notched their second win of the campaign scoring in the trot co-feature in 2:06.2. Paul Breau of Shediac Cape, NB co-owns the colt who turned back Lace and Lets Trade Ladies in only his fifth start.
Honor Role won the Iwave Information Systems Pace for driver Brian Andrew and his co-owners Blake and William Andrew. The mare charted her third win in a row in 1:59.1
The fastest mile of the night went to Brookdale Heather in 1:56.4 for owner heather Neill of North Milton.
Mark Bradley and Jason Hughes also recorded driving doubles on the program.
Racing returns Saturday at the CDP oval with a 6 p.m. post time. The National Driving Championship moves into Red Shores Tuesday at 7 p.m. The top eight drivers in Canada will compete for a chance to represent Canada at the World Driving Championship in Australia. The event also features the Founder’s Cup $25,000 Invitational along with the Builder’s Cup pace in honour of Doug Hill, Charlottetown and Eric Johnston, Summerside, PE.
