Who Doesnt Extends Streak To Six
Alberta Downs' hottest pacer Who Doesnt continued his Open win streak on Sunday afternoon with a 1:52.4 score over the Lacombe, Alta. track for trainer/driver Travis Cullen. The win was his sixth in a row.
The overwhelming favourite in a short field scratched down to four, track record holder Who Doesnt ($2.40) sat third early on before wearing down his stablemate Playbook, who had set fractions of :26.3, :56.2 and 1:24.3 in the $8,000 feature race. The five-year-old Mach Three gelding defeated Playbook and Philip Giesbrecht by one and three-quarter lengths while pocket-sitter Wrangler Betonme and Gerry Hudon finished third over seven lengths behind Blue Star Admiral and Brandon Campbell completed the field. Daniel Semalu was scratched sick.
Who Doesnt now boasts nine wins and three seconds in 16 starts with earnings of $46,360 for the year for owners Travis, Jeanne, Kenneth and Jodie Cullen.
With the win, Cullen completed a sweep of this week's Open events as he was also victories in Saturday's distaff feature with Feelin Flush.
