Elm Grove Inarush Destroys Track Record

A new track record for three-year-olds was set on Sunday afternoon at Inverness Raceway with pacing filly Elm Grove Inarush clocking the impressive 1:55.3 mile.

Elm Grove Inarush was under the command of driver Mark Bradley in the first of two $9,380 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' divisions. She shaved two full seconds off Ramblinglily's filly track record and bested the colt mark by one second. The ownership papers on the Coastocoast Yankee-Seawind Alpha filly are held by Blaine Thibeau, trainer Eddy Doucette, Gordon MacLeod and Grant Mann, all of Kensington, P.E.I. Favourite Lovineveryminute (Todd Trites) finished four lengths behind in second and Sail Through (Mike Stevenson) was third.

Saulsbrook Alana and driver Marc Campbell captured the second 'A' division in 1:56.4 for trainer Kevin MacLean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford, P.E.I. The Western Paradise-Atlanta Girl filly won by seven lengths while Fleurje (Mark Bradley) and Pictonian Sareta (Mike Stevenson) were the best of the rest.

Two $2,500 'B' division events were further highlights on the afternoon race card with the first dash going to Willie Murphy trainee Rhondas Example (N Xample-Rockin Rhonda) and driver Mike Stevenson in 2:01.1. Meanwhile, Happy To Scoot (Western Success-Scooting Annie) took first-place honours in her division in 2:03.3 with trainer Wade Sorrie in the bike.

In regular racing action, Redmond Doucet trainees Imbadimnationwide and Salute swept the top two spots in the $1,500 top pacing class. Driven by Marc Campbell, Imbadimnationwide went wire-to-wire in 1:57 with his stablemate and Doucet following three and a half lengths behind.
