Record Holder Returning To Summerside

Fresh off his track record performance of 1: 53 in the Governor's Plate, D Gs Camme will return to the same spot it all happened on Sunday afternoon.

The action at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway will get underway at 1 p.m., but fans will have to wait until Race 9 to see the new track record holder.

D Gs Camme will be contesting the first leg of the Premiers Pace Series. The four-year-old son of Blissful Hall is owned by Quentin and Hal Bevan, Tom Clark and Ronnie Matheson. His regular pilot, Gilles Barrieau, will be in the bike for trainer Jackie Matheson.

Astor, who was the runner-up in D Gs Camme’s track record mile, has drawn Post 5 for the Foxyhall Racing stable. Jason Hughes handles the training and driving duties on the five-year-old gelded son of Camluck. Machinthesand has drawn Post 4 for owners Russell and Karen Noonan. The Governor's Plate finalist is coming in off of a Preferred victory last week at Red Shores' Charlottetown Driving Park. Mark Bradley has tapped Brodie MacPhee to perform the driving duties. Blissfull Bro (Post 1), Schooner (Post 2) and Modern Xhibit (Post 6) round out the compact field.

The second Premiers Pace split has been carded as Race 12. Last year's Premiers Pace winner, Touch Of Lightning, has drawn Post 2 for veteran trainer-driver Earl Smith.

Windfall Blue Chip will contest the Preferred 2 Pace, which has been carded as Race 7. The seven-year-old son of Art Major is owned by Jamie MacKinley and Jody Sanderson. Windfall Blue Chip was fourth in his last start for driver Brian MacPhee. The Earl Watts trainee will be making his third start of the 2014 campaign on Sunday.
