N.B. Feature To Dance Hanover
Dance Hanover, the classy son of Astreos, captured the top class at Exhibition Park Raceway in 2:02 for the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B. on Saturday.
Stephen Trites worked out a perfect pocket journey for the Sifroi Melanson-trained 11-year-old pacer, Dance Hanover, as he scored his fifth win in nine races this season. Rose Valley finished in the runner-up spot with Man In Pink grabbing third. Stare Down had been the early leader in the race, but faded late in the mile.
New Brunswick's leading driver Mark Haig added two more winners to his seasona; total. Haig now has 14 wins on the year. Skippy (2:01.3) gave co-owner Harold DeFazio a great birthday present with his victory. Haig's other win came with J Rs Hurricane as he romped to a seven-length win in 2:01.2.
Gordon Hennessey had a banner day as he scored with his pacers Armbro Comet and After Lunch Larry.
The next card will be raced at Connell Park in Woodstock, N.B. on Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. Horse Racing New Brunswick will also host a holiday card on Monday, August 4 at Fredericton Raceway to celebrate New Brunswick Day.
