Colts Impress In Atlantic Sires Stakes
The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts put on an impressive show at Truro Raceway on Thursday evening as part of Atlantic Grand Circuit Week harness racing action.
All Hail and driver Clare MacDonald captured the first $10,040 'A' division event crossing the finish line in a time of 2:01.2. The chestnut colt is owned by Riley Farms, Kensington, PE and Lloyd Hannah, Summerside, PE. Coming home a close second was J J Romeo and driver Mike Stevenson and third was Gotta Move and Bernard McCallum.
The second 'A' division event on the evening race card went to Putnams Legacy and Bernard McCallum in 2:00.3 for owners Gordon McCabe, Truro, NS and Blaise Duff, Big Pond, NS. Second place went to Proven Desire and driver Marc Campbell and Silverhill Lover and Terry Gallant took third place honours.
The two $2,500 'B' division events rounding out the race card went to Timely Finesse and driver Marc Campbell and Johnnybananas and Jason Hughes.
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action continues Saturday evening when the three-year-old pacing colts meet at the Truro oval. First race post time on Saturday is 6:30 p.m.
