The Show Returns Breaks Maiden
With a pedigree to drool over, The Show Returns shipped into Mohawk Racetrack and produced an impressive victory in Tuesday’s first leg of the Whenuwishuponastar Series for two-year-old pacing fillies.
The Show Returns, a full sister to stakes star Put On A Show (1:47.3 - $2,459,903), got away fourth for driver Jack Moiseyev before blasting to the front in the backstretch. She cleared without a tussle and supplied middle splits of :58.4 and 1:28.1 before rocketing home in a :27-second clip. She delivered the one-length score in 1:55.1 over Sheeztoughenough, with Aintsheasweetie taking home third prize in the $12,000 tilt.
The daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Stienams Place, who is owned by Richard Young of Boca Raton and Joanne Young of Coconut Creek, Florida, hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer Chris Ryder. The $180,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale has banked $17,375 to date.
