Streaking Horses To Meet Saturday
A pair of horses sporting two-race winning streaks will lock horns this Saturday during Exhibition Park Raceway’s feature race.
Horse Racing New Brunswick will showcase a total of seven dashes on Saturday afternoon at EPR, and the featured tilt on the card is Race 6, a conditioned pace that carries a $1,500 purse and will house a field of six.
Two horses will put their win streaks on the line in Race 6, as ROF Samurai (PP4, Sam Hodgin, 5-2) and Man In Pink (PP2, Mark Haig, 8-1) are set to do battle.
ROF Samurai, a four-year-old gelded son of Force Of Luck, is coming into Saturday’s test off a July 19 win at Fredericton Raceway where he was victorious by one length in 1:58.4 at odds of 12-1. Trainer Zoran Petrovich has called upon Sam Hodgin to once again steer the winner of seven of 18 career races. ROF Samurai has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite.
Man In Pink, a 10-year-old gelded son of Camluck, will be making his 189th career start and will be looking for his 28th career victory. The bay is heading into Saturday’s dash off a 1:59.3 victory at Fredericton Raceway on July 19. As usual, the Gordon White trainee will be piloted by Mark Haig.
In addition to ROF Samurai and Man In Pink, the field will include Sparky Bayama (PP1, Lonny Stokes, 6-1), Rose Valley (PP3, Michael Campbell, 4-1), Stare Down (PP5, Michael Downey, 3-1) and Dance Hanover (PP6, Stephen Trites, 7-2)
First-race post time is 2 p.m.
